About me

I’m a woman, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a niece. I write incessantly. My natural home is academia, but I’m currently on a bit of a hiatus after seven years of academic and medical debt accumulation. Never fear. I shall return. I’m bi-cultural and identify as somewhat Mexican-American. I’m a feminist, a leftist, a liberally-educated eternal student. I think about life through a framework that is sometimes very intentional, and sometimes rooted mainly in feelings. I’m both nicer and meaner than I seem, or so I like to think. Who knows? Only my Facebook network, I guess.

Hi! I saw your post on feministing about wishing there were more stories about women’s abortions. Are you familiar with the abortion project? http://www.theabortionproject.org/

Hi MT, others have recommended it as well. It’s a great collection. To be more clear, what I’m not seeing is many bloggers out there, talking about their abortion experiences; there’s certainly no easy way to find them. I love the projects that collect narratives, but you can’t interact with the authors in the way that you can someone who is writing on an ongoing basis–and showing that women who have had abortions are just fine, after the fact.
